The Important Role of Analytical Measurements
Metrology is defined as the science of measurement. Measurements are integral to some aspect of nearly every study in science, engineering and technology. While there are different types of measurements in scientific and engineering studies, analytical measurements represent a class of measurements that are prominent in chemical analysis and applied physics. How analytical measurements are designed and implemented can often be directly related to the scientific validity and defensibility of the analytical measurement measurements and their interpretation and actions for subsequent use for policy and management decisions.
Stranaska Scientific LLC, the world-wide industry expert and critical thought leader in analytical UV/VIS absorption spectrophotometric metrology, will soon offer online training modules through the Stranaska Analytical Metrology Education Program (SAMEP). The online training modules in analytical measurement science and chemical metrology are value-added in resume building for students and recent graduates pursuing a new position in chemical laboratory analysis, quality control, manufacturing support and process engineering in FDA-regulated laboratories and other scientific testing environments where analytical measurements are involved.
Scope: The online training modules are intended to provide science and engineering students and graduates with a unique learning opportunity to become aware of and knowledgeable in the emerging technical field of analytical measurement science and chemical metrology. The modules will be most beneficial to students and graduates in the physical sciences and certain engineering fields such as chemical or bio-medical engineering.
SAMEP Student Internship Module: An introductory module has been developed specifically for the competitive assessment of SAMEP student internship applicants. The applicant must register for this module to be considered for the internship if the school did not offer a formal course in analytical measurement science.
