TECHNICIAN INTERNSHIP

Stranaska Scientific LLC, the world-wide industry expert and critical thought leader in analytical UV/VIS absorption spectrophotometric metrology, is now accepting applications for a full-time internship in the company’s measurement standards and services laboratory. This temporary internship has the potential advantage of serving as an entry-level stepping stone to full-time employment with the company upon successful management review and evaluation of the intern’s performance record and demonstrated proficiency.

Internship Title: Analytical Metrology Technician Intern

Education: Recent high school or college graduate with documented course study and acumen in chemistry, physics or other analaytical STEM curriculum.

Applicants must also be willing to undergo standard pre-employment drug test evaluations and employment background checks.

Job Duties: The successful candidate will report to and be supervised by the Assistant Director and Laboratory Leader, and will be expected to quickly become proficient in all primary and supporting aspects of the laboratory calibration of optical filters used for the qualification of analytical UV/VIS absorption spectrophotometers in FDA-regulated laboratories.

Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office Word and Excel; candidate must also be able to quickly learn and apply proprietary laboratory instrumentation operating software.

Work Experience: Entry-level but successful candidate will be expected to be meticulous, mature, detail-oriented in their work assignments, and be able to immediately demonstrate a teachable mindset.

Learning Requirements: Ability to adapt quickly to a small company culture and to have the personal mindset that can appreciate the unique opportunity to interact with and learn from the scientific experts in a highly mentoring environment; must be organized and self-motivated with eventual ability to work with minimal supervision; demonstration of commitment to attention to detail, neat handwriting, maintaining clean and tidy desk and work station, and meticulous approach to task assignment. The successful candidate must be willing and able to consistently follow explicit instructions, measurement procedures and laboratory protocols in strict accordance with the laboratory quality management system.
